Automating Android Privacy Assessments

We are a group of researchers from the Secure Software Engineering lab at Paderborn University, working on understanding GDPR compliance for Android apps. We are working with Assessor View, a tool that automatically visualizes an Android app in data privacy vocabulary.

We invite privacy experts, legal experts, and Data Protection Officers to participate in a user study and help shape the future of GDPR compliance! Participation is voluntary. Participants can withdraw at any time.

Information about the user study:

  • We will conduct the study on Zoom, no camera required.
  • We will conduct a short interview about the current state of privacy assessments and GDPR compliance.
  • We will assign some privacy-specific tasks and ask follow-up questions about Assessor view.
  • Participants will complete a questionnaire.
  • The study will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes.

The user study design was approved by the Ethics committee of Paderborn University.

Data Collection and Processing:

  • We will collect your name and email for study coordination.
  • Your personal data will be kept strictly confidential and anonymized as soon as possible.
  • We will also collect your study results through a questionnaire.

Only researchers from Paderborn University will have access to the data, and no identifying information will be included in any publications resulting from this study (More details here). Please read the privacy policy for this study which was approved by the Data protection office of Paderborn University.

Please note that this study has been approved by the DPO and Ethics Committee (ERB) of the University of Paderborn.
